Enrique Continues to Give the Goods in His Latest Blog Post

When we say that MMAFigs.com is your #1 source for UFC action figure news, views, previews and reviews, that’s not just the hype train talking.

Other sites may claim to have “insider” news, but news can't get much more “inside” than an official blog run by Enrique Ruvalcaba, Director of Fight Brand Marketing for Jakks Pacific.

Enrique broke the news first, with MMAFigs.com following up shortly thereafter, that Randy Couture and Tito Ortiz were confirmed for Series 3. As two of the biggest legends in the sport of MMA, the inclusion of Couture and Ortiz in the UFC Action Figure line ensures that Series 3 will capitalize on the groundwork set by UFC Series Zero, 1, and 2.

MMAFigs.com and Enrique Ruvalcaba return with another insider blog post that details some pretty big news for the future of the UFC line.

Here’s what was posted by Enrique himself, courtesy of his official blog that you can view right here.

“Hey guys,

I’m getting a lot of feedback that you guys need more info!  I love it.  I am here for you.  You want more, just ask and I will provide…

Quick update - UFC figures #0 and #1 should be in stores now.  All figures.  I know that Kendall Grove and Miguel Torres are tough to find because they shipped out a bit late, but the full assortments for each should be out now.  And, don’t forget about those “First 100″ chasers :)  As you know our belts and basic Octagon playset should also be out in stores now.  Coming very soon:  The Official Scale Deluxe Octagon playset should be hitting stores in about a week or 2.  It’s a bit pricey (rising costs), but it is very cool (if I do say so myself :)) and would highly recommend for you guys.

Now the fun stuff.  You heard it hear first.

UFC Belts #2 - Will include the UFC Championship belt again from series #1 + the Ultimate Ultimate belt and the Pride Grand Prix!  What do you think?

UFC Deluxe Figures #2 - Check out the pics!  What do you think?

UFC Deluxe Figures #3 - It’s official.  Here is the full list of characters:  Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, BJ Penn, Jon Fitch, Mark Coleman (Legends Pack), Shogun Rua (Pride Pack), Karo Parysian, Thiago Silva.

UFC Deluxe Figures #4 - Still finalizing the assortment, but I’m feeling quite giving right now and don’t mind sharing some plans with you.  If everything goes well, I think you can expect the likes of Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin.  Oh and maybe even KS?

Send me comments…

-Enrique”

While not as earth-shattering as Tito and Couture, the inclusion of Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin should go far in appeasing the legions of fans that love “The Axe Murderer” and “Ace”. Jakks Pacific continues to cater to the hardcore MMA enthusiast with Shogun in PRIDE gear and the soon-to-come release of the PRIDE Grand Prix Championship belt. As someone that loved the PRIDE belt simply because it was the PRIDE belt (more on that in my official replica belts review that you can view here), the PRIDE Grand Prix Championship will make a welcoming addition to my burgeoning MMA collection.

Also, there are not a whole lot of people “KS” could be, so my money is most definitely on Kimbo Slice. Is it too soon to have a Slice action figure, or does the seven million views he helped bring in on Spike TV make a Kimbo figure downright mandatory? Also, since Kimbo Slice has yet to have an official fight in the UFC, does his spot in the lineup signal the long-rumored inclusion of figures based on “The Ultimate Fighter” participants? I personally think that Kimbo was one of the breakout stars of "TUF 10", earning even more fans with his down-to-earth attitude and willingless to improve upon his mistakes, so I think a Slice action figure has the potential to fly off of store shelves.

For now, let’s just say that Jakks has plenty of surprises left in store for us, the MMA action figure community. And remember that you can only get this type of news at MMAFigs.com, home of Enrique Ruvalcaba’s official blog! Don’t forget to check out Enrique’s blog right here.

Still, you can't deny that Kimbo is a possibility. He did pull in the highest rating of a Spike TV original show ever. He'd be a pretty good way to introduce TUF fighters into the UFC line, other than having people like Forrest and Rashad in TUF Attire. Love him or hate him, I think his popularity has never been higher. Jakks should capitalize on it in case his popularity fizzles out again.

Plus, I personally would love a Kimbo figure.

Ken Shamrock is as "faulty" a choice as Kimbo Slice, neither are premere fighters anymore and both have had a bad year since their fight never materialized. I'd buy both and will be happy with either. Sign me up for everyone!

Wow Wow Man Jakks is definitely Doing us good. Where Ken Shamrock would be a great figure to go alongside Tito Ortiz and Royce Gracie and No doubt a Legend.
I would be In Jakks best Interest To Put out the Kimbo with and Introduce it big with a Skull Cap and his Fist Chain and would be Grreat.
I'll Get Two Kimbos thank you very much
