The UFC's Young Guns Highlight a Rare Monday Event

The UFC recently held a rare Monday event in the form of a Fight Night LIVE special, and a number of former stars from "The Ultimate Fighter" tasted both victory and defeat.

In the night's main event, Gray Maynard avenged a loss from almost three years ago when he defeated Nate Diaz after three admittedly sloppy rounds that, apparently, the fans weren't too fond of. Diaz had previously defeated "The Bully" on the fifth season of "The Ultimate Fighter". With this win, Maynard moves one step closer to a showdown with division kingpin BJ Penn.

Efrain Escudero, the Season 8 winner of "The Ultimate Fighter", wasn't so lucky in his match-up against Evan Dunham. After three rounds of action, Dunham forced the submission with a well-placed armbar. Amir Sadollah, the TUF 7 winner, ended up pulling out a unanimous decision win in his contest.

Gray Maynard defeats Nate Diaz by Split Decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28).

Evan Dunham defeats Efrain Escudero by Submission (Armbar) at 1:59 of Round 3. Dunham wins the Submission of the Night award and a $30,000 bonus.

Aaron Simpson defeats Tom Lawlor by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). Both men won the Fight of the Night award and a $30,000 bonus.

Amir Sadollah defeats Brad Blackburn by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Chris Leben defeats Jay Silva by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Rick Story defeats Jesse Lennox by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

Nik Lentz versus Thiago Tavares ends in Majority Draw (28-28, 28-28, 29-27).

Rory Macdonald defeats Mike Guymon by Submission (Arm Bar) at 4:27 of Round 1.

Rafael Dos Anjos defeats Kyle Bradley by Unanimous Decision (30-27 On All Cards).

Gerald Harris defeats John Salter by TKO (Strikes) at 3:24 of Round 3. Harris wins the Knockout of the Night award and a $30,000 bonus.

Nick Catone defeats Jesse Forbes by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28).
