BJ Penn and Frank Mir Dominate in Latest UFC Pay-Per-View

Another UFC event has come and gone, and once again “The Prodigy” has lived up to his namesake.

Over a period of five rounds, BJ Penn defended his UFC Lightweight Championship against Diego Sanchez in a supremely one-sided affair that saw Penn dominate and have an answer and a counter for everything and anything Diego threw at him. Not unlike Georges St. Pierre at UFC 100 against Thiago Alves, Penn took a seemingly worthy challenger and made him look like an inexperienced newcomer. Diego showed all the heart in the world, though, but a high kick during the fifth round ultimately spelled doom for the man known as “Nightmare”. The cut opened up a massive gash just above Sanchez’s eye, forcing the doctors to call the fight off.

In other UFC 107 “Penn vs. Sanchez” news, Frank Mir also pulled off one of the most dominating wins in his career against feared striker Cheick Kongo. Billed as a “clash of styles”, it was Mir who surprisingly put Kongo on the floor with a thunderous punch before finishing the wounded fighter off with a Guillotine Choke. Mir appeared more confident and deadly than he had ever been in the Octagon, and during the post-fight interview he appeared focused on getting back into title contention.

Here are the results for the full UFC 107 “Penn vs. Sanchez” event.
