TUF 9 Finale "Sanchez vs. Guida" Latest Info
Who's TUF enough? As the End of TUF Season 9 Approaches, the Official Card Takes Shape
The name of the game appears to be “lightweight” when it comes to the TUF 9 finale, since both the main event and the co-main event feature scraps at 155 pounds. Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida heads the card, with Nate Diaz vs. Joe Stevenson backing them up.
And of course, two new TUF winners are crowned, as Ross Pearson and Andre Winner meet to crown the TUF 9 Lightweight Champion, while DeMarques Johnson faces whoever wins the semifinal of this week’s episode for the TUF 9 Welterweight Championship. A solid undercard, plus the inclusion of a Dark Horse favorite fighter of mine (Chris “Lights Out” Lytle) ensures that TUF 9 is going to go out with a bang.
Here’s the current card lineup.
155 lbs.: Diego Sanchez (20-2) vs. Clay Guida (25-9)
155 lbs.: Joe Stevenson (29-10) vs. Nate Diaz (10-3)
170 lbs.: Chris Lytle (26-17) vs. Kevin Burns (7-2)
170 lbs.: DeMarques Johnson (9-6) vs. TBA (0-0) for the TUF 9 Welterweight Championship
155 lbs.: Ross Pearson (8-3) vs. Andre Winner (9-2-1) for the TUF 9 Lightweight Championship
170 lbs.: TJ Grant (14-2) vs. Rory Markham (16-5)*
155 lbs.: Brad Blackburn (13-9-1) vs. Edgar Garcia (7-0)*
155 lbs.: Melvin Guillard (21-7-2) vs. Gleison Tibau (17-6)*
205 lbs.: Mike Ciesnolevicz (17-3) vs. Tomasz Drwal (15-2)*
155 lbs.: Jason Dent (18-9) vs. Cameron Dollar (2-1)*

Clay Guida is another Dark Horse favorite of mine, though I guess he’s technically a lighter horse than Lytle since a lot of people love his scrappiness, tenacity, and that ungainly monster he calls hair. And while I’ve never been a fan of Joe Daddy, I basically can’t stand either of the Diaz brothers, so I hope Stevenson takes the win. Even if TUF 10 is getting most of the attention now that names like Kimbo Slice and Roy Nelson are confirmed to be in it, this season of TUF 9 featured some great fights and some great fighters, so I’m looking forward to seeing who has it in him to reach up and claim that TUF 9 crown.
