    Supremacy MMA

this game could have some promise for a fun here-and-there type of game. i dont think it will have anywhere near as much depth as UFC Undisputed or EA MMA though. skeptics also say the brutality of the game will only hurt the sport. what are your thoughts? here's a brief preview of the game:

Developer Kung Fu Factory is taking a stand against the likes of EA's MMA series. Rather than attempting to fully simulate the sport, its upcoming fighter MMA Supremacy is taking cues from classic arcade fighters such as Tekken and Virtua Fighter to make it more accessible and more fun to play. That's not to say characters will be launching fireballs at the opposition and performing impossible flying kicks--far from it. The visceral no-holds-barred fighting style that MMA is famed for will remain, albeit with a number of tweaks that make performing combos, grapples, and dodges natural to anyone that's played an arcade fighter.

Supremacy MMA is due for release on June 7 in the US and June 3 in Europe.

I'm kinda on the fence about this game because it does seem like the brutality could hurt the sport, i mean simple leg kicks the snap legs in half!? But then again the other side of me sees the fun to be had in what could be the first MMA style arcade game.

i agree completely. i just watched some gameplay videos of it. unfortunately the animations are pretty awful as is the hit detection. this looks like a weekend rental to me now

I don't think it would hurt the sport at all, it is simply like a WWE All Stars or another "Unrealistic" sporting game (NFL Blitz)

I will be the first to say to all my ufc buddies, I will be playing this, it won't hurt to try it out at all.

true but wwe has a reputation already... besides its fake, ufc on the other hand are trying to get mma legalized for example in new york. ufc is expanding all parts of the world getting more exposure..i feel like this game might set an example as "oh is that how mma is really like" not everyone gonna think that way tho... people have there own opinions based on it...but i agree it won't hurt to try the game. Im getting this anyways... coming from a pride fan.. i take pride over ufc anyday Lol sucks that there bought out. =/

I mean it could be debated all day long.

Boxing has had crazy games since NES (Mike Tysons punchout) and even Facebreaker

The sport isn't for everyone, but it should be determined by each individual if they wan't to enjoy or block it, or to simply not care. NYC is just punishing themselves out of money, and business by making it illegal. As far as Pride, I miss the head stomps and all, but I do like the fact that it's commissioned over here, so that people are less likely to get hurt, and have to pass drug screens.
