    Last Movie You Watched?

Everybody loves movies, so I'll go ahead and start a movie topic. Post anything from full reviews to quick snippets.

Me, I've been watching some of the Harry Potter movies in preparation for the latest one. Specifically, Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. I enjoyed both, although I always find it weird how dark 4 and 5 are compared to the first 3. #3 was pretty dark too I guess, but #4 and #5 feels like bleakness on top of bleakness sometimes.

I also watched Land of the Lost...it's a funny movie, but "stupid" funny. It's classic Will Ferrell.

I recently watched Role Models, it has come out on DVD. I didnt think it was too bad had a good story and everything.

Also just seen the new Punisher movie (it went straight to DVD in Australia) and i thought it was good very bloody and violent so if you like this sort of movie defiantely for you. Followed a good story.

I enjoyed Role Models quite a bit more than I thought I would. The "final battle" scenes really had me rolling with laughter.

That said, I can add Bruno and the latest Harry Potter movie to my list. Bruno is all kinds of hilarious if you like the specific style of humor it prides itself on. It's raunchy and disgusting, but you're in on the joke while the people Bruno interacts with aren't, and that's the hilarity of it. If you get a kick out of that, Bruno excels in hilarity.

Half Blood Prince was pretty good, but there were some notable scenes cut from the book that I think really should have been included. Also, the thing is dark. Both literally and metaphorically. A majority of the scenes either take place indoors or at night or in other dark and dreary settings, and when there's a daytime scene, it's always either raining, cloudy, or snowing. Still a good movie, though.

I saw Land of the Lost a month ago. I also saw The Hangover which is the funniest movie of 09 so far. Fas and the furious 4 a few months ago and again when I buy it on tuesday. But most recently I watched Saw 1-5 in a marathon party I had at the house with friends the other day.

I've had mixed feelings on Saw. The original blew me away with its surprise plot twist right at the end. Before the entire movie franchise was seemingly built upon one epic plot twist right at the end of the movie, Saw I's particular plot twist was pretty damn epic.

From there the movies more or less degraded in quality and became more about making the audience squeamish then telling a hybrid horror/thriller story. I'll watch 'em out of habit and to see all the new traps, which are always pretty inventive.

This move thread is slowly making me realize just how much of a despicable pirate I am.

Fast and Furious is the best of the series. Things like plot and character development are shoved back about as far as they can go to make room for more cool car scenes, various action scenes, and some hot girls, but they know their niche and they're sticking to it. The opening car scene is particularly epic. So long as you know what you're getting in to, it's an enjoyable film.

I enjoyed Watchmen, for the most part. There were a few issues here and there, but overall it's all good.

Also, be prepared to see plenty of blue penis. LOTS of it. And to anyone who says "it was in the graphic novel", I have to say that the point is kinda lost when you consider that, in the graphic novel, he was "hung" like an ordinary man. In the movie, his dong puts most male porn stars' to shame, and it's featured in just about every scene he's in.

I remember trying to get my sister to see The Wrestler and describing it to her as "haunting".

She thought I meant it like it was a horror movie.

Rourke got robbed of the Oscar, IMO. "Milk" was a good movie with a brilliant performance from Penn, but Rourke managed to encapsulate everything wonderful and horrible about the pro wrestling business in his performance.
