I recently saw I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, Law Abiding Citizen, and The Man From Earth.
IHTSBIH was pretty funny, despite all the negative reviews it got I found myself really liking it. I guess it helps if you're a fan of Tucker Max, and I used to read his stuff all the time for laughs. If you go into it with the mindset that it's an extremely juvenile movie good for a few chuckles and plenty of T&A, you might enjoy it.
Law Abiding Citizen was pretty good, but overall Butler and Fox carried the movie. I know that's the point of the film, to have your lead actors deliver, but my point is that I just don't see the plot premise working without Butler's silent aura of a badass (which he brings to all his films, even the romcoms) and Fox's understated role as an everyman (which he more or less brings to a majority of his films as well). I also thought the ending was a little weak. I did like the movie overall, though.
The Man From Earth was one of the most intellectually stimulating science fiction films I've ever seen. Without hyperbole, I think it may end up being one of my favorite sci-fi movies ever. It's an acquired taste, as the entire movie takes place in a living room and the plot moves entirely through discussion between the characters, but everything is done brilliantly and the film turns out to be an excellent example of how science fiction is so, so, so much more than just alien life, big spaceships, and explosions of various sizes.

^^^ Law Abiding Citizen is awesome. I bought it. I just watched 2012 myself. Not bad IMO...

I'll probably get around to watching 2012 sooner or later, I heard it was pretty decent for a disaster movie.
I recently watched Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant and Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
CDF was a real sleeper hit for me, I loved how the movie had its own atmosphere and a really likeable cast of characters. I think the movie went a bit too fast moving forward, but other than that I thought it was pretty enjoyable.
Percy Jackson was pretty good too, but I did notice some pretty glaring holes in the film's logic here and there. Also, I have to wonder who this film was made for. There's kid-friendly stuff, but then there's blood and fighting. There's teen-friendly stuff, but then there are some T&A shots scattered around the movie and some VERY sexual scenes towards the end courtesy of Rosario Dawson, who plays Persephone. I didn't mind it overall, but I do think the film couldn't decide which audience it wanted to market itself towards.
Overall both films were pretty good and both leave a lot of room open for sequels. And honestly, I wouldn't mind watching sequels to either film.
I think it's been confirmed that the guy who played Percy Jackson is close to signing or either has signed on to play Spider-Man in the upcoming reboot, I'm honestly not as upset about this as I once was having seen this film. I think Logan Lerman has real breakout potential as a star, and he carried the main role remarkably well.
