    Scenario 1 - Pessimistic

They are truly done with the line. The Facebook post the other day was just a smokescreen. They've dumped Series 8 and Series 9 at Walmart Canada for $5 a fig and that's it.

    Scenario 2 - Optimistic

They are going to make one last attempt at figuring this thing out and come back in 2012 with a completely different approach to both marketing the line, how they approach with it the retailers etc.

I've always maintained the best source of info on Jakks is the investor section of their webpage. Every quarter they do a conference call, release their earnings. If they killed the UFC line you'll most likely find confirmation on there. The next earnings release is in late October (I think).

For what's it worth the last report they had highlighted the UFC sales had declined indicating scenario 1 is the more likely scenario at this point.

    Sucks.

Well, I called Jakks HQ again today and the customer relations woman again said the same thing; series 10 early 2012 and that the UFC line is not going to end. As far as he facebook page; she said it might be under re-construction. If you think about it; it can only get better with all the strikeforce guys coming to the UFC; Hendo, Diaz, Overeem, etc. More figs, Right??

I really really love your optimism Iceman, but I think it's just time to face facts. Coming from someone who has literally invested THOUSANDS in the Jakks company, I don't want to admit it either, but I believe it's time to hang em up and face the truth. With the statement that they made, the fact that no stores are picking up their products, no new info for months, no new products for months, many of their original plans halted and now fanpages disappearing, I think it's done.

I sincerely hope to god that I'm wrong and hopefully Jakks comes back bigger and badder in 2012 but seeing as how Jakks is losing even their most diehard fans, I find it hard to believe that even if they come back, it'll be a little too late.

    It's Showtime!

I guess I will keep looking for the last 2 figs I need and call it quits. Probably redue my man cave and go with a univeristy of michgian or a detroit lions theme

Lke I mentioned yesterday, pay attention to Jakks next earnings report which comes out in October. They usually mention each figure line, usually briefly but this where I found out that sales had declined this year but we're doing reasonable well in the fall of 2010.

i'm on the pessimist side and the dealer where I buy my figs from told me their done but maybe Jakks will just completely revamp how they've done things. Perhaps it will officially become an online only line maybe sold exclusively just through a few places. It seems Ringside and the UFCstore always have the figures first. They've probably lost money because they've tried so hard to make it mass retail line and it clearly does not work for UFC figures both Jakks and Round 5. Granted, this could be a downside because if only a few select retailers get the product, prices could spike upwards. The beauty of the internet is that you can make money by bypassing the Walmarts, Targets of the world. It all depends on your cost levels and a decent level of collectors to support.

At the end of the day, we have to accept Jakks does not give a s*** about a few hardcore collectors posting on this website. They care about MAKING MONEY. If the UFC line is a stinker, they either are going to kill it or they will try to find a way to make it profitable by rethinking their approach in 2012. Its impossible for us to know that, we're on the outside looking in.

Hey, it's Akosa. Wanted to jump in here.

We took down the Facebook page while we work on gaining traction for the line for 2012.

Back in June when I was doing the Q&A here, I was excited for the back half of the year-- clearly, I jumped the gun sharing the news, as two key things didn't work out as planned. I do understand your frustration with all of this, as 2011 has been a tough one for fans of the line (myself included).

Can't share much else, except that there is a group of individuals working hard behind the scenes to have a meaningful 2012 with the UFC line. Thanks.
